Jude 1:1 - Additional Comments
This is the only place Jude is mentioned in Scripture.
All Christians are saints (see verse 3, 14, Colossians 1:2, 1:26). All Christians are called (see 1 Pet 2:9, 2 Pet 1:3). Al Christians are sanctified (Heb 10:10). All Christians have been preserved in Jesus (1 Th 5:23, 2 Tim 4:18, Eph 1:13 - sealed). All Christians have a salvation that is the same ("common" -- verse 3) -- there is nothing special about the salvation one receives compared to another.
This epistle seems to have been written to all Christians, yet it may have been written to a specific church or area.
